Kinexa
Kinexa is a dance piece by AIEP. A dancer moves alone on stage, and her gestures call up an avatar that copies her exactly.
Then the copy stops following. The avatar begins to move on its own and to produce images of its own, dreamlike ones, while the dancer goes on beside it. By the end she dissolves, and what is left on stage is the figure she made.

The motion capture is markerless, so nothing on the dancer's body gives the system away. Her movement is read live and turned into the avatar, its particles and the sound around it.
The piece travelled to Seoul, rebuilt for a different room and a different audience.

The choreography stayed exactly as it was. Everything around it, sensing, sightlines, calibration, was tuned again to the new space.
