where the image is a system running rather than a frame chosen.
Macondo treats visual output as something grown instead of composed. We wrote the rules, the constraints, and the failure conditions, then let the work find its own variations inside them.
The frames worth keeping are the ones we did not anticipate, which is the whole argument for working this way.

Working generatively means giving up the frame. You set conditions, then judge what arrives, and most of what arrives is wrong.
The discipline is in the selection, not the generation — which is the part people tend to skip.
