Planetarium

Fornasetti has spent decades repeating one face, Lina Cavalieri's, in hundreds of variations, and the sky has always run through its decorations in suns, moons and stars. In the zodiac series the face takes on all twelve signs, and a single woman becomes an entire sky.

Planetarium gathers those plates, and it opened with a game that invites you into what Fornasetti calls its imaginary cosmogony, a universe in which the tableware is in orbit.

The phone becomes a telescope. You choose your sign and raise the screen, the sky turns around you as you move, and the plates drift through the constellations until you catch them in a crosshair, whole, the way a collector would.

Choosing a sign, then catching the plates as they pass.

Every game ends in a reading. The horoscope for your sign is written with AI in Fornasetti's own voice, learned from the house's earlier horoscopes, so the prediction sounds the way the plates look, and it leads back to the collection with an offer.
